Murphy has taken to Twitter to call out old rival Aleister Black for a match at WrestleMania 37.

In recent times, both WWE's 'Best Kept Secret' and the former Tommy End have seen their television time either be cut down or taken away completely. While Murphy was recently seen falling to Cesaro on a couple of occasions on SmackDown, Black hasn't wrestled a match on TV since October last year.

Clearly feeling a need to shoot his shot before the biggest event of the year, Murphy teased a potential showdown with his old rival on the Grandest Stage, posting the following message on his Twitter account:

Murphy and Black famously went back and forth on Monday Night Raw at the start of 2020, frequently highlighting how talented the pair are between the ropes. This mini programme also paved the way for Murphy to join forces with Seth Rollins, a move which resulted in him becoming the former WWE Champion's 'Disciple' before eventually warring with his mentor down the line.

Since the end of that feud involving Rollins and the Mysterios, Murphy has seemingly been lost in the shuffle on Friday nights, with Black also going missing not long after his real-life wife Thea Trinidad parted ways with the company last year.

Though it seems unlikely to go down at this stage, there's worse ways to utilise these two forgotten stars than in a pre-show showcase in front of an excitable Raymond James Stadium on Night 1 or 2 of 'Mania 37. Fingers crossed both men's futures become clearer in the coming weeks.
