Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the Undisputed WWE Champion's promo on Monday's episode of Raw "was to tell you that he's a SmackDown guy."

Per Meltzer, the promo was intended as a "farewell", with 'The American Nightmare' endorsing former tag team partner Jey Uso on his way over from Raw to SmackDown. Additionally, Uso is "the guy now" that Rhodes is en route to Friday nights and former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is on hiatus.

Uso became World Heavyweight Title number one contender by winning a four-way match on last week's Raw. On Raw, Rhodes told Jey that Raw would soon be his, wishing Uso luck ahead of their parting of ways.

The 2024 WWE Draft begins on next Friday's SmackDown (26 April) and will continue through the following episode of Raw (29 April). Should WWE's annual roster reshuffle end up sending Cody to SmackDown, it'll presumably position the company's top titles back on its pre-WrestleMania brands, with Rhodes' Undisputed strap on Fridays and Damian Priest's World Heavyweight on Mondays.
