Perhaps this statement would have been more pertinent six months ago, when the wrestling calendar wasn't so ravaged by the ongoing global health crisis, though it's nice to hear genuine, scene-boosting positivity from such a big star nonetheless.

A number of prominent promotions remain dormant at the moment, with Ring of Honor and Major League Wrestling amongst the most notable. Impact Wrestling, WWE, and AEW haven't stopped throughout the current situation, with NJPW recently returning to action as well, holding their New Japan Cup Finals and Dominion Events with 30% capacity crowds in Osaka.

WWE's Stephanie McMahon believes audiences will return to American promotions "sooner rather than later," though it's unlikely that we'll see sold-out arenas until many months from now.

Regardless, justifiable health concerns aside, that so many wrestling companies haven't stopped through the crisis has been a great relief for many fans seeking in-ring escapism, though television numbers are down across the board. Fingers crossed that trend reverses once everything goes back to normal.
