8. Roman Sets, Extends Main Event Records
Every year, Roman Reigns makes WrestleMania history simply by showing up.
That’s because the Tribal Chief almost exclusively competes in the main event of the biggest show of the year, allowing him to set and pad records for his participation in the final match of the evening.
This year, Reigns further extended his lead by wrestling his 11th WrestleMania main event, putting more distance between himself and Hulk Hogan’s eight 'Mania main events. Cody Rhodes, by comparison, wrestled his fifth WrestleMania main event this past weekend.
Roman also set a new WrestleMania record, wrestling in a main event match for the sixth consecutive year (starting with WrestleMania 37 in 2021), breaking a record set by Hulk Hogan, who wrestled in the main event in five consecutive WrestleManias (V through IX).
As mentioned earlier, Cody has wrestled in five main events, but those have come in a four-year period, so he has some work to do to eventually catch Reigns.
