6. Old Man Wolverine Kills Everyone
The immensely disturbing Wolverine: Old Man Logan storyline by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven is filled with nightmarish imagery and stomach-churning deaths. The story takes place in a dystopian future where supervillains have conquered and divided the United States into individual fiefdoms.
An older Wolverine lives in a territory controlled by the Hulk and appears reluctant to use his claws. Via flashback, the reader learns that Wolverine inadvertently hacked up all of his teammates when he believes a group of enemies has invaded the X-Mansion. As Wolverine kills the last invader, it is revealed to be an illusion manufactured by Mysterio and Logan's fallen teammates are there instead.
In the storyline's final chapter, Logan confronts the Hulk, who easily dispatches of Wolverine and eats him. Logan's healing factor kicks in while he's being digested and he claws his way out of the Hulks stomach killing him in the process. The image of Wolverine bursting out of the Hulks stomach, with green blood and guts spraying in all directions is arguably the most gruesome sight in this very violent story.
