Kurt Wagner's inclusion on this list could be called into question seeing as how one of his parents - his father, Azazel - is actually a demon. As the son of the shape-shifting mutant terrorist Mystique, Kurt was born with his father's ability to teleport and his mother's indigo-colored skin, which is sometimes depicted as being covered in light fur (Azazel is red but, amazingly enough, Kurt wasn't born purple!) Aside from that, Nightcrawler possesses other features that betray his demon spawn origins. There's the tail, pointed ears, fanged teeth, yellow eyes, three toes on each foot, and three fingers on each hand. It was this freakish appearance that caused horrified villagers to chase down Mystique upon Kurt's birth, forcing Mystique to abandon her child down a well. Years later, Kurt's looks would incite another angry mob to try and take his life when they falsely believed him to be the murderer who had slain several children in their village (the actual murderer was Kurt's foster brother Stefan). Ironically, despite his devilish good looks - pun very much intended - Kurt is a devout Roman Catholic who finds comfort in his faith and even worked towards his priesthood. We're not sure a dog collar and robes would be quite enough to hide his monstrous appearance, though, even in the confession box.
