10 Weird Comic Crossovers You Won't Believe Happened

10. The Official Sequel To Django Unchained Featuring Zorro

Over the years, there have been a lot of comics that have tied into films and expanded their universe. However, Django/Zorro is the first to ever serve as an official sequel to the film and was even co-written by Quentin Tarantino along with writer Matt Wagner.

The comic is set a few years after the end of Django Unchained. Django returned to bounty hunting to provide for Broomhilda and found himself hired as a bodyguard for the elderly Diego de la Vega, formerly the masked hero Zorro.

Together, they posed as rich investors for a railway built by the self-proclaimed Archduke of Arizona so that they could infiltrate his compound and free the tribe of Native Americans that he had enslaved to build his railway.

It was a fun story and even featured Django briefly taking up the mantle of Zorro. More importantly though, it also really felt like a sequel to the movie.

Interestingly, there have also been rumours of Sony trying to get the comic adapted into a movie and that Quentin Tarantino would be interested in directing it. Obviously, that should be taken with a fairly sizeable pinch of salt, but it's an exciting prospect nonetheless.
