The Goblin was hardly the sinister character we know these days (at this point, his real name was still a mystery - Lee and Ditko disagreed on making Norman Osborn the secret identity, with Lee in favor of Osborn and Ditko wanting it to be someone readers hadn'€™t seen before, which many believe led to Ditko€™'s departure and replacement with John Romita) - in fact, he seemed kind of silly.
