This team-up adventure puts our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Captain Marvel together in a fight between a privatized mechanical police force and a 50-foot tall madwoman, which isn't necessarily the strangest part of this book, though it might just be one of Spider-Man's wackiest team-ups!

This book brought together Spider-Man and the new Captain Marvel, though it wasn't the first time the two have fought side-by-side. The two superheroes have teamed up from time to time over the years, and while all of their adventures are fun to read, this collection is easily the best of them all.

Unlike many of Danvers' other titles, this books isn't too dark or serious. Thanks to the inclusion of Spider-Man, the adventure gets a bit more insane than it does horrifying, which can sometimes be a "feature" of Danvers' stories.

Avenging Spider-Man: The Good, the Green and the Ugly is a great way to break into the more recent, light-hearted take on Captain Marvel. It's especially easy to jump into if you're a fan of Spider-Man, which is why this book makes for a great read.
