Death Of Wolverine: 10 Ways To Make It Not Suck

10. Killing Logan Off To Introduce New Uber-Badguy

An unfortunate trend within the comics industry is the attitude of casually murdering characters to prove a new villain is someone to be taken seriously. In his introduction Vulcan's actions resulted in the death of Banshee, Cyclops killed Xavier, Psylocke was beaten to death to introduce Vargas; and you can probably name more than a few other examples yourself. With Marvel openly advertising this as Wolverine's last dance, it's sadly easy to see the next Onslaught being introduced by casually bumping him off. After all, Wolverine was often the subject of similar beat-downs show how badass some new guy was, whether they were joining the team or getting ready to fight them. Using this would cheapen the overall quality of the story, turning it from something which could truly close out Logan€™s life into a promotional effort. Any meaning, great execution or emotional moments would be rendered null and void because it would be a purely promotional event. Less €œLet€™s remember this long established and beloved character€ and more €œHey guys, buy future comics to see this new villain!€
