Nathan Summers, otherwise known as Cable, is the son of Scott Summers and Madelyne Prior (Jean Grey's clone). Because of his biology, he is one of the most powerful telepaths in Marvel Comics, though he is most often portrayed as a gun-happy, infant-toting warrior.

For those fans who are only familiar with the character from Deadpool 2, he is a powerful telepath with abilities that rival those of his mother. He has telepathic powers and can move things with his mind via telekinesis. Because of this, he was a prime candidate to try out Cerebro when the need arose.

During the Phoenix Resurrection series, the team was on the lookout for Jean Grey and the Phoenix Force but were limited in the number of available telepaths. In stepped Cable, who sat down and got to concentrating on finding Ms. Grey.

Unfortunately, he fell victim to Cerebro's powerful telepathic feedback and was overrun with pain. Not only did he fail in finding the Mutant he was looking for, but the feedback also caused the cables to snap and electrocute him as the helmet blew up into pieces all around his head. Left groaning on the floor, it was then pointed out that there weren't any additional psychics who could use Cerebro.
