10 Awesome Movie Jobs You Had No Idea Existed
2. Keeping The Blade Runner Timeline Organised
While recently promoting the upcoming animated Blade Runner series Black Lotus, Alcon Entertainment co-founder and co-CEO Andrew Kosove revealed that the company actually has two employees on payroll whose job it is to keep the Blade Runner timeline in check. Kosove said:

"We have two people who work for us at Alcon whose - I wouldn't say it's their full-time job, [but] it's the majority of their job... [They take it] really seriously, interweaving the different stories and making sure the timelines, the canon, the character motivations are all seamless and have a logic within the canon... We take the canon of the franchise very seriously, because the fans, of which there are so many, have invested so much of themselves in the material."
Though it's easy to scoff at the notion of the Blade Runner franchise being complex enough that it needs to be organised so formally, when you factor in the movies, the upcoming TV series, the short films, novels, comics, and so on, the potential for contradiction quickly mounts up.
If only other sci-fi franchises - looking at you, Terminator - were this meticulous about safeguarding their own internal logic.
