Now, this job is both extremely specific and absolutely hilarious.

While shooting The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, director Justin Lin wanted to shoot in Shibuya, one of the busiest and most iconic parts of Tokyo.

But because the Japanese authorities generally don't give out filming permits, Lin had to effectively steal the shots without permission, prompting the local police to try and arrest him.

Yet Universal had the foresight to put a plan in action to ensure their filmmaker wasn't thrown in the slammer for the night, as would shut production down and cost the studio time and money. In Lin's own words:

"They shut us down, I'd gotten all my shots, but I didn't know they were going to arrest me. Another guy stepped up and said, 'I'm the director.' I found out that it was his job to take the fall for me. He went to jail for the night and I'm forever grateful."

Sadly Lin's sneaky double has never been identified nor did he appear to receive a credit for his invaluable contribution to the film, but as film jobs go, earning a fat wad of cash for spending a chilly night in a cell makes for an all-timer pub story.
