Proof that a film cannot simply trade on a smart idea and a good opening, especially if it then unravels entirely and loses its way towards an ending that it's hard to care enough about thanks to the journey to get there.

It's under-cooked and ponderous, and few would probably be surprised if it was revealed that this was actually intended as only the bones of an idea that someone released accidentally before the story was developed properly.
