10 Best Horror Movie Disguises Of All Time
2. Chromeskull - Laid To Rest
In Robert Greenhall's slasher, a girl with amnesia wakes up in a coffin, only to discover she's been kidnapped by a man sporting a chrome-skulled mask. With no sign that anyone's coming to her rescue, the girl realises she must kill her abductor to survive.
Laid to Rest is, by no means, a great film. But to the movies' credit, Chromeskull has one of the coolest masks in horror history. As a concept, having a metallic skull-styled mask sounds generic.
But what makes this villain's appearance stand out is how his mask only covers his face, not his entire head, making it look like it's a part of him. The way the skin around the seams of the mask bulges out shows how tight it is, almost as if it is fused to his face. The reflective surface of the face-covering causes Chromeskull's victims to see their own horrifying face as he approaches them, adding to the terror.
Laid to Rest is nothing special as a film but it's easy to say why Chromeskull's look has become iconic in recent years.
