10 Best Movies Actors Did After Harry Potter

10. Lady In The Van – Maggie Smith (Minerva McGonagall)

Lady in the Van is an odd little film about Alan Bennett’s experience with Mary Shepherd, a homeless woman who lived in a van parked on Bennett’s driveway in Camden, London.

The humour is the best part of the film. Maggie Smith hasn’t lost any of her charisma and wit over the years, and the combination of her amusing delivery and Bennett’s screenplay is a match made in heaven.

The film also utilises an interesting use of dialogue by having two separate versions of Bennett interact with one another. Though this is slightly disconcerting at first, you soon become accustomed to this technique thanks to Alex Jenning’s performance.

It’s not a ground-breaking movie by any means, but there’s plenty of simplistic charm throughout this strange story. If you’re looking for an amusing, offbeat film, Lady in the Van is definitely one to check out.
