10 Bold Predictions For Future DC Movies

6. Aquaman Will Be Way Better Than Anyone Expects It To Be

OK, everybody's heard the constant argument that Aquaman's the silliest, most useless superhero of them all, and the hardest to place in this seemingly gritty and grounded DCEU. But again - cast your mind back to the early days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Remember when people were saying much the same thing of Thor. The legend of Atlantis is so iconic in popular culture, and yet when you think about it, we've never had a really great live-action movie about it. It's not hard to see why, as it clearly poses technical challenges, but with modern technology the means to do such a vision justice surely exist. And there's the potential for something really spectacular there. Much as they appear to be approaching Wonder Woman more as a World War 1 period adventure, I certainly hope DC are approaching Aquaman more along the lines of a Ray Harryhausen Greek myth movie. Above all, there's the chance for something genuinely unique here. Okay, the idea of the Justice League battling the cosmic threat of Darkseid on present day Earth sounds promising, but it also sounds a lot like what Marvel have already done with The Avengers, and will continue to do with Avengers: Infinity War. On the other hand, God-like beings in mighty underwater cities, commanding the waves, maybe even riding on sharks? Now that sounds like something we haven't seen before.
