4. Guy Gardner Will Be The Villain In Green Lantern Corps
2020's Green Lantern Corps is, one suspects, a movie that Warners/DC will be paying extra special attention to. Everyone involved knows they blew it last time they tried to bring Green Lantern to the screen, so they have to bring something very different to the table this time around. They've already taken a step in the right direction by making this a team-up movie, presumably set to centre on Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Might it make for an interesting story for two human Green Lanterns to take on a third? This, again, perhaps isn't the boldest prediction given the history of Guy Gardner, who since his introduction has been a more aggressive, unpredictable Green Lantern, whose persistent rivalry with Hal Jordan ultimately saw him lose his status within the Corps for a time. All this being the case, it would be surprising if Gardner and Jordan didn't butt heads in the film. Still, while Gardner might have clashed with Jordan (not to mention many of the biggest names in the DC universe including Superman and Batman), he's never exactly been an outright bad guy. But it's not hard to see him being nudged in that direction, even if it's only for a little while. And given how immense and impersonal the threat was in the 2011 Green Lantern movie, wouldn't it be nicer to have a more personal conflict in Green Lantern Corps?
