Look at how Warner Bros have opted to launch the DCEU: with two back-to-back movies centred on ensemble casts, one highlighting DC's greatest heroes, another bringing to the forefront a number of comparatively lesser-known villains. While it's not hard to see how Suicide Squad may be at least in part an imitation of Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy (similarly lesser-known characters, similarly less squeaky clean), this is still a pretty bold move for a cinematic brand which isn't exactly established yet. With Green Lantern Corps also set to centre on a team, and of course the two-volume Justice League (from which we can presumably expect further instalments down the line), it seems fair to assume this is where the DCEU will really stand apart from Marvel. Movies of Birds of Prey, Doom Patrol, STAR Corps and Gen¹³ all seem feasible, to name but a few. And of course we can expect more Suicide Squad. On which note...
