10 Cancelled Horror Movies That Could Have Been Legendary
2. The Return Of The Killer Klowns From Outer Space In 3D
Killer Klowns From Outer Space is absolutely as terribly wonderful as it sounds. Written, directed and produced by the Chiodo Brothers in 1988, this horror-comedy is so cheap, sleazy and outlandish that it 100% deserves its status as a cult classic.
Talks of a sequel have been around pretty much since the first film was released, however a combination of creative differences and budgetary constraints have kept any sequels in development hell for thirty years now. The Chiodo Brothers remain as committed as ever however, claiming that they want to kick off a new series of Killer Klown escapades with a 'requel' and a trilogy split into four films. There's also been talks of a TV show airing on Syfy around these clowns.
The first sequel, named The Return of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space in 3-D, looked set to be green lit by Fox and would have featured Grant Cramer reprising his role from the original release as a crazy old man who no one listens to when he starts banging on about Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
Sadly, in August 2019 Disney announced that this sequel, along with about 200 other projects, had been cancelled.
