Laurence Fishburne is an immensely talented actor, and has already played the Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Planet once in Man Of Steel. Although he was not in the film for all that long, audiences got a taste of the character and the way in which he will be portrayed in future films. The character is traditionally seen as an extremely demanding and extremely loud editor. Snyder changed the character, mainly so that he no longer resembles the anger and intensity of Spider-Man's J. Jonah Jameson. He clearly wants to support his employees, even helping to save one of his reporters while Metropolis fell apart during Supermans battle with Zod. Fishburne is changing the character, and his unique balance of care and professionalism is likely to become one of the definitive depictions of Perry White.
