10 Characters That Could Make Up MCU's Young Avengers
The best up and coming heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Infinity Saga is now firmly in the past, allowing Kevin Feige and co. to move on to new stories for Phase Four and beyond, expanding the franchise more than ever before over the next few years.
The Disney+ slate will make up a bigger part of the franchise than any of its previous TV shows, the Multiverse will seemingly become an over-arcing narrative potentially like the Infinity Stones throughout the first three phases, and there will be a number of new super teams introduced.
The Eternals and the Fantastic Four have already been confirmed, and will more than likely be joined by the X-Men sooner rather than later, but there is one more team that the MCU has been heading towards for some time now.
The Young Avengers were introduced to the Marvel Universe back in 2005, and as you might expect, is made up of superheroes on the younger side. As with anything in the MCU, there will be changes from the source material, so there may be character in the on screen team that never graced the roster in the comics, and vice versa, but the MCU certainly already has enough pieces to put together an incredible team.
10. Stature
Back in Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scott Lang's daughter told her dad that she could be his partner, watching his back while he was fighting crime. At the time it seemed like little more than an easter egg and nod to her Young Avengers career in the comics, given just how young she was, but a quick five year time jump later and it doesn't seem so unlikely.
After being portrayed by Abby Ryder Forston for her first two appearances, Emma Fuhrmann played an older version of Cassie in Avengers: Endgame, and has now been recast once again. Kathryn Newton will bring the character to life in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, in a change that suggests Marvel has bigger plans for her ahead. Why else would she be recast?
In the comics, she goes by the name of Stature, and in a similar vein to her dad, is able to shrink and grow to ridiculous sizes, only her ability is based on her emotions. When she feels guilty she shrinks, and when she is angry she grows bigger.
This could be of great use to the Young Avengers on screen as it was in the comics, and though she wasn't an original in the latter, her tenure in the MCU makes her a prime candidate to help found the Marvel Studios' version in the near future.
