10 Devastatingly Dark MCU Theories

3. Gorr The God Butcher Will Kill Khonshu

He was ominously absent from the first Thor: Love and Thunder trailer, but Gorr the God Butcher is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe this year. Set to be played by Christian Bale, fans have every reason to think this diety-murdering villain could be one of the franchise’s best ever antagonists.

Betrayed by his own gods in the comics, Gorr set to murdering all other gods across both space and time. Naturally, Thor will be on his list, as will Zeus and the Olympians, and the hulking monster that has already been shown to be killed in the trailer.

Other than Thor, since just about every other Asgardian god has been killed, the gods that Gorr will butcher will have to be introduced in Love and Thunder itself, unless Marvel are planning an epic crossover with its latest Disney+ series.

Moon Knight has depicted the titular character and his struggle being the avatar of Khonshu, a god of ancient Egypt, who along with the likes of Ammit, Osiris, and Taweret, could have been introduced into the MCU months before the God Butcher just to give him more gods to butcher. Of course, there would be far more emotional impact should Gorr kill characters the fans are already attached to, and the Egyptian gods of Moon Knight would certainly fit that bill.
