10 Disney Supporting Stars That Need Their Own Movie

10. Sebastian

As it stands, Sebastian's prequel already exists in the form of The Little Mermaid 3: Ariel's Beginning. In the film, he is an underground musical composer and conductor, peddling his notes in an underground club. He is hiding for fear of a totalitarian leader who will make him disappear if discovered.

Classic Disney.

So, where do we go from here? We know where he came from, we know where he gets to in the original and thanks to Return to the Sea, we know where he ends up.

Sebastian is one of the adult characters who is caring and mature, while still humouring Ariel in her struggles. He is fun, he is upset in his own grumpy way and more often than not he is the voice of reason when it is needed most. We have seen the underwater kingdom in times of strife. Sebastian is a character who works in most situations.

Like many others on this list, though he is a supporting character, there is enough in this small crab to carry a film all on his own. He is trusted and respected, though not without a bit of an up and down journey along the way. He is fun, even if this is not overly evident in the first film. Sebastian defined what cartoon crabs should be - bring him back, give him his own film and see where he can go!
