7. The Ghostbusters Reboot Will Be In Continuity With The Original Films
The response to the all female Ghostbusters reboot has been mixed at best; depressing at worst. Regardless of how well the final movie turns out, a lot of people are ready to write it off because Ewww, girls are gross! They cant be Ghostbusters! My childhood is ruined! etc That depressing reaction aside, it was announced from the start that the new movie would be a total reboot. There would be no links to the original films or any returning characters; the story would be starting from scratch. Yet with the news that Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Dan Aykroyd would be appearing, a whole load of fans took this to mean the reboot would be in continuity with the originals after all. Never mind that Murrays role as a ghost debunker was confirmed by the man himself; director Paul Feig has outright stated that he only agreed to make the movie if he could do his own original take on the concept.
