10 Excellent Actors Everyone Takes For Granted

8. Gary Oldman

For the love of all things holy, can we please just get this man an Oscar already? Even if it's made out of, like, papier mache and tinfoil that's been spray painted gold? Seriously, we all talk about how its so unfair that Leonardo DiCaprio doesn't have an Oscar yet (and it is), but Gary Oldman has been turning in fantastic performances since Leo was in elementary school. So what is it about this guy that makes him so acclaim-resistant? You've got Sid and Nancy, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Leon: The Professional, The Fifth Element, the Harry Potter franchise, the Nolan Batman trilogy, the list goes on and on. And he didn't even get nominated for an Oscar until he starred in 2011's Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, which is frankly a traversty. Luckily, these days he's beginning to get the recognition he deserves, but up until the past few years, he had a pretty solid career as That Guy Who Was In That Thing, when he actually deserved much, much more.
