Yay, more Star Wars! No. Stop. Ask yourself what made the Force Awakens great. OK, not the whole it re-made A New Hope quite nicely thing. How about the intrigue and speculation it generated by leaving the filler info to the fans? Sure, I love the saga as much as the next Jedi (what? Ive felt the Force), but the whole point of not. Defining. Every. Single. Aspect. Is to give some fluidity to the cinematic universe of Lucas imagination and leave space for fans to find their own theories as to whos who and what the Death Star Killer Planet Thing is going on. OK, so Im all for seeing Felicity Jones and Mads Mikkelsen thrashing out an alternative take on the Imperial little guys in a space opera set before 77, but, as the first film in the Anthology series, one has to fear for kids who wont have the joy of spin-off comics and back-story novels. Once its in film, its as good as canon.
