OK, let's get this out of the way first: this movie is a pretty offensive representation of a serious mental health disorder. The Jekyll & Hyde nature of Jim Carrey's portrayal of a man with multiple personality disorder is, at best, lacking in nuance and very oddly played for laughs. Still, the most messed up bit in this movie is the revelation, the morning after Renee Zellweger's Irene thought she'd had sex with Jim Carrey's Charlie, that she's actually slept with his violent alter-ego Hank. Sure, they occupy the same body but waking up and realising you've slept with a completely different person is incredibly creepy.
