10 Game-Changing New Characters Coming To DCEU
10. Reverse-Flash
Despite a somewhat troubling video doing the rounds of star Ezra Miller allegedly attacking a fan, The Flash is still happening at Warner Bros. and recently got a new release date (June 3rd, 2022). It's been through multiple scripts and directors, but the latest rumours point to Reverse-Flash being the lead villain in a movie it's believed will be titled "Flashpoint."
Eobard Thawne hails from the future and was the ultimate Flash fanboy before becoming his greatest rival. In the comic books, he uses his time-travelling abilities to toy with Barry Allen, and even goes back and changes his entire life by murdering the hero's mother. The Flash tries to undo that, breaking the timeline and creating an apocalyptic world where Aquaman and Wonder Woman are at war.
We don't know much of that will make it to the big screen, but Reverse-Flash is a villain who can literally reboot the entire DC Extended Universe, something which may be necessary now this shared world is without its original Batman (and Superman). Interestingly, it's thought that this version of Eobard will, in fact, end up being a woman.
