10 Great Comic Book Movies You'll Never Watch Again (And Why)

6. Watchmen

What It€™s About: When former superhero The Comedian is murdered, the masked vigilante Rorschach begins investigating a conspiracy that involves quieting up all the other heroes. Gathering together his former allies, they seek to uncover what€™s going on as the world pushes towards nuclear armageddon. Why It€™s Great: Everything that worked in the comic still works on screen. It€™s the truest form of adaptation imaginable, maintaining the gripping mystery and powerful themes of the original comic. And there€™s nothing quite like seeing a beloved classic finally playing out in real life. Why You€™ll Never Watch It Again: Watchmen was deemed €˜unfilmable€™ for good reason; this straight adaptation is simply too unyielding to watch over and over again. There€™s too many side adventures, characters that don€™t go anywhere fast enough - things that work fine in print, but on screen are harder to decipher and leave us with a a bloated adaptation that adds nothing of real worth. If you€™re going to put in the amount of time in to watch the whole thing (especially in extended form), you may as well just read the comic book instead.
