10 Great Movies Starring Doctor Who Actors You Need To See
10. Jenna-Louise Coleman - Me Before You
Me Before You is a 2016 romantic-comedy-meets-tragedy movie starring Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke front and centre. Emilia plays a young woman named Lou who is struggling with a lack of direction in her life and her seeming inability to hold down a job. In her desperation she accepts a seemingly impossible job caring for a young man named Will Traynor who was paralysed in an accident two years before.
You can probably see where this is going; the initially grumpy and nihilistic Traynor, played extremely well by Sam Claflin, is slowly warmed by the quirky, ditzy but goodhearted Lou. Despite the two’s blossoming feelings for one another, Will intends to go to Switzerland to attend an assisted suicide clinic.
Jenna-Louise Coleman is a smaller but vitally important part of the movie. She features as Treena, Lou’s sister who initially seems to have her life together but actually has problems just like anybody.
Despite the small size of the role, Jenna performs it well and her sisterly chemistry with Emilia Clarke is apparent from the very beginning. She serves as a sort of grounding force for Lou and for the film as a whole and it is definitely a movie you should check out.
Just…make sure you have plenty of tissues because you’re definitely going to cry.
