10 Great Yuppie Horror Movies
2. Wolf
In Mike Nichols only horror film (and a horror film only Nichols could have made), Jack Nicholson works for a large publishing company, where corporate maneuvering is cut-throat - literally and figuratively.
After being bitten by the titular monster late at night, Nicholson slowly takes on the characteristics of the creature - heightened senses of smell and hearing as well as territoriality. This is most clearly expressed when, faced with corporate climber James Spader in the men's room, he urinates on his shoes.
Wolf is slightly different than the others on this list, partly because Nicholson is too old to fit the yuppie mold. Rather, Nichols' film is a final fight between the older generation and the new young, urban Spader, who soon becomes a wolf himself and goes head to head. Somewhere in between the two, Michelle Pfeiffer exists.
Points also to include an early performance from David Hyde Pierce.
