When ads for Neil Labute's evil cop/nasty neighbour film Lakeview Terrace first aired, it was hard not to recall this 1992 thriller. When couple Kurt Russell and Madeliene Stowe's upscale L.A. home (where else?) is burglarized, they employ a security system.
Officer Ray Liotta helps them set up the code (note to all: criminals and cops will guess "pyramid" if they've seen this film), and takes a liking to Stowe and befriends her husband. It becomes quickly obvious that Liotta's mental state isn't quite up to police mental tests, but his character further insinuates himself in their lives.
