There's something inherently scary about normal, everyday people transforming into blood-thirsty creatures. It's something we€™ve seen much of in the genre over the years but few are as effectively vicious as this Spanish-language horror. We follow the small crew of a night-time current affairs program, led by spirited presenter Angela (Manuela Velasco), who attend a seemingly ordinary call out with the local fire department. Once at the apartment building they discover there€™s been an outbreak of a virus that turns the victims into crazed zombie-like killing machines. Directing duo Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza utilize the now tired found-footage style to excellent effect, wasting little time before chucking its audience into the deep end of a terrifying ordeal, revelling in making you jump and covering your eyes with memorable moments of blood-soaked terror; the first time we come across one of the creatures is particularly terrifying. Good luck sleeping peacefully after that ending!
