10 Greatest James Bond Themes In The History of the Franchise

9. Live and Let Die - Paul McCartney and Wings

Well worthy of its Oscar nomination, Sir Paul€™s title track manages to be playful and tense at the same time. Starting off slow and wistful, the song doesn€™t take long to start rocking out and turning into a fast paced chase tune. While it may not have fit the more funky/70€™s tone of the overall film (both in story and in musical content), it surely started the film with a much needed bang and transitioned Bond themes from their previous pedigree into a hybrid of film music and pop music. This robbed the franchise a little of its edginess, but it could be argued that it also drew more attention and more mass appeal to a franchise that was still in its early stages.
