10 Insanely Dark Joker Moments That'll Never Make It To Film

3. The Death Of Jason Todd - A Death In The Family

1988€™s A Death in the Family is one of the most famous Batman stories of all time, largely down to culminating in the brutal death of Robin. Who killed the Boy Wonder? Of course, that would be Joker. Having taken over the mini cape, outfit and booties from Dick Grayson, the Jason Todd version of Robin wasn€™t exactly that popular amongst fans. Now when it comes down to it, technically it was the fans who were responsible for killing Jason Todd after his fate was left down to a poll. Still, it was The Joker who was left to wield the crowbar. Having lured Robin, and as a result later Batman, overseas to meet Jason€™s estranged mother, it ends with The Joker beating the tar out of the Boy Wonder with a crowbar. Robin winds up in a pool of his own blood before being tied up along with his mother as a bomb is activated. The bomb would go off, Robin and his mother would die in the explosion and the Dark Knight would never, ever be the same. Well, you know, until Jason was officially confirmed as being back from the dead in 2005. Early rumours suggested that one of the first drafts for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice featured a dead Robin, presumed to be Jason. The last speculation is that the film will not have this element, instead it could very well be Jim Gordon who is deceased. Either way, don€™t be expecting The Joker to be seen beating a teenage boy to within an inch of his life with a crowbar any time soon.
