Judgement Day has been and gone, the Rise Of The Machines ended up collapsing, and Salvation didn't really rescue audiences from anything. The fifth in the Terminator franchise has a lot to prove, least of all that the franchise isn't as beyond its sell by date as it seems. The slowly building anticipation has so far being doing pretty well at getting fans back on side, by casting nerd-friendly faces from Game Of Thrones and Doctor Who, whilst plucking its director away from Marvel Studios. Maybe there's hope for Terminator: Genisys after all despite, well, the name and everything. The Terminator franchise has been around for 23 years. That's plenty of time for it to have gotten rather stale. And, from the last couple of sequels in the series, it certainly seems that way. The fifth Terminator will come out in a much different world than the first. It'll be following in the footsteps of a bunch of crappy follow ups, in cinemas blessed with a higher level of blockbuster, with a star whose gone from hulking mountain to... well, still a hulking mountain, but one who can qualify for a bus pass. Changing trends, a troubled history, that cast list, and a whole lot more - these are the ten biggest challenges Terminator: Genisys faces.
