3. The Joker's Suicide Squad Role Is An "Extended Cameo"

Jared Leto's take on The Joker is by far the most anticipated aspect of Suicide Squad, though if you're expecting him to have a role on par with Will Smith's Deadshot or Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, you might be setting yourself up for disappointment.

It seems much more likely that the Clown Prince of Crime will appear for a few brief moments here and there, adding up to 10-15 minutes carefully peppered throughout the film to keep him in the audience's mind even while the film builds up the titular team. It'll be more of a featured, extended cameo than a fully fleshed out role.

It's probably a smart move all things considered, given that the mainstream has no idea who most of the Squad are, whereas The Joker just needs to be established for the inevitable re-appearance in Batman's solo film. Regardless of what happens, it's definitely best to keep your expectations in check about his role in the film.
