The key thing about Bruce Banner is that his presence and his physicality has to be a direct contradiction of the monstrous alter-ego that possesses him when he's angry. It's very much a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde deal and something that Jeff Goldblum knew all too well how to capture thanks to The Fly.

Clearly someone saw the value in Goldblum's body horror past too, because the iconic actor was heavily linked to the lead role in Ang Lee's cerebral take on The Hulk in the early 2000s. He reportedly tested for the role but Eric Bana ended up cast for the disappointingly dreary origin movie.
