10 MCU Characters Missing From Marvel's Phase 4 (And Why)
3. Christine Palmer
Doctor Strange was a fun ride back in 2016, but the movie certainly wasn't perfect. One of the biggest issues was how it handled its female characters, and the talented Rachel McAdams was arguably wasted as love interest Christine Palmer. She failed to make an impact with such a limited role, and it's sadly fair to say that no one is clamouring for her to return in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Well, with female characters like Clea and the Scarlet Witch set to make their respective presences felt in that sequel, it's no wonder that it's now been confirmed McAdams won't be reprising the role next year.
It feels like Marvel Studios dropped the ball by using Palmer in the first place, especially when Rosario Dawson was essentially playing a different version of the same "Night Nurse" character in The Defenders at the time. Now, far more interesting characters will join this franchise in her place and while it's a shame McAdams wasn't used as well as she should have been, it's not hard to get over this particular absence.
