10 MORE Horror Movie Moments Everyone Was Waiting For (That Never Happened)
2. Various Vampire Tropes - Dracula
Though there have been many depictions of the Count Dracula, Bela's Lugosi is often considered the definitive one. After all, his depiction in 1931's Dracula popularised numerous aspects of the iconic character, including his welcoming demeanour, slick-backed hair, thick European accent, and hypnotic glare.
However, there are many features associated with the Transylvanian bloodsucker that don't occur in this film. But since this adaptation is so famous, viewers naturally assume it contains every vampire cliche imaginable.
For instance, there's no shot of Dracula sucking on somebody's neck at any point in the movie. Even though Dracula has transformed into a bat in many adaptations and the source material, he does no such thing here. The titular character never utters the line, "I want to suck your blood," even though it's been parodied in other mediums.
Strangest of all, Dracula never bears his iconic fangs because... he doesn't have any. Due to the Mandela Effect, it's easy to picture Lugosi's Dracula with pointy canines, despite the fact the villainous vamp has regular teeth.
Although anyone who's a fan of retro horror should watch this classic, the lack of vampire tropes might throw you off.
