4. Azazel Is Defeated - Fallen
In this supernatural crime thriller, Denzel Washington's character, Detective John Hobbes, investigates a series of mysterious murders in the city. After much deduction, Hobbes is horrified to learn the culprit is Azazel - a malevolent spirit who possesses humans and uses their bodies to carry out murders.
Though Hobbes intends to stop Azazel once and for all, it's easier said than done. If Azazel is killed while possessing a host, he transfers his essence to the nearest person.
Despite outmanoeuvring his enemies for millennia, Hobbes is certain he knows how to destroy the ancient demon. After possessing the body of Hobbes' co-worker, Jonesy, Azazel tracks Hobbes to an isolated cabin. When Jonesy dies, he automatically possesses Hobbes, since there isn't another human being for miles.
However, it's revealed Hobbes poisoned himself, meaning Azazel will have nobody to possess once the detective shuffles off his mortal coil. After Hobbes croaks, Azazel is seemingly destroyed.
But in the last few seconds, a cat emerges from the bushes, indicating Azazel has found a new host and will continue to torment humanity for the foreseeable future.
Sorry, Hobbes. It was a genius idea, but it wasn't enough.
