10 Most Anticipated Horror Movies Still To Come In 2023

More demons, vampires, and ghosts are on the way...

It may be early days, but 2023 is shaping up to be a pretty stellar year for horror. Evil Dead Rise turned out way better than anyone anticipated. M3GAN is destined to become the next big slasher franchise. Knock at the Cabin wasn't bogged down by dumb dialogue or bizarre performances, despite being directed by M. Night Shyamalan. (Seriously, when is the last time that's happened?) With the positive reviews of Infinity Pool, Sick, Scream VI, and many others, the year is off to a blinding start.

And yet, the best is still to come. Although 2022 was a delight for horror fans, 2023's line-up might be even better. Oscar-nominated director, Lee Daniels, will be delving into the paranormal genre for the first time. A Stephen King classic will be getting a big-screen adaptation. (That happens every year, but it's still worth mentioning.) On top of that, the director of the recent Halloween trilogy will be revisiting another iconic horror saga.

Although there are plenty of slashers, supernatural thrillers, and spook stories coming your way, here are ten upcoming horror films that need to be on your radar.

10. Saw X

We have every reason to be cynical about the tenth Saw movie. (Yes, there have been that many.) Because the two soft reboots failed to leave an impact, you can understand why Saw X ranks so low on our list.

But based on the rumblings surrounding this sequel, things sound surprisingly optimistic. If you were annoyed John Kramer didn't show up in the last entry, Spiral, you'll be happy to learning Tobin Bell's career-defining villain will return in the upcoming instalment.

Not only that, Saw X will also bring back Amanda Young - Jigsaw's victim-turned-protege. Because Kramer and Amanda met their end all the way back in Saw III, it'll be curious to see how the murderous duo come back, and what role they'll play in the story.

Die-hard fans will be happy to hear the project is being handled by Kevin Greutert, who was the head editor of many Saw films (as well as director of two), including the original. Because Greutert's masterful editing is what made Saw so tense and terrifying in the first place, it'll be interesting to see what he cooks up for Saw X.
