10 Most Underrated Star Wars Characters Ever
10. Qui-Gon Jinn
Calm, composed and very much his own man, the ins and outs of Qui-Gon Jinn's depth really didn't get to shine through enough during his time on screen in The Phantom Menace. As well as being calm, collected and a truly excellent swordsman, Qui-Gon had a real knack for reading and understanding the world and characters around him.
Much like individuals such as Count Dooku, Qui-Gon understood the role the Jedi Order had to play in the Galaxy and rejected the stubborn arrogance the Council in particular had begun to exhibit by the time the main series kicks off. Qui-Gon understood that Jedi needed to have a full understanding of both Light and Dark sides of the Force, and being away from the Council allowed him to develop skills such as Ghosting that only Yoda and Anakin Skywalker could master.
His fears for the Order would quickly be proven correct as the arrogance of the Jedi eventually clouded them so much that it eventually reached the point where they couldn't even sense when a Sith Lord was sat right in front of them.
Who knows what might have happened had Qui-Gon survived his duel with Maul and gone onto train the young Anakin Skywalker.
