The Franchise: Even before this summer's big-budget adaptation of the classic kids' TV series hit screens, Lionsgate confirmed that they were pursing a six-movie arc, and considering how ludicrously successful the various iterations of the show have been, combined with the movie's sensible $100 million budget, what could go wrong?

What Happened?: Though its initial box office showing rose above expectations, Power Rangers quickly fell off a cliff due to its failure to connect with an international audience, grossing just $142.3 million worldwide.

Though it was initially stated that a sequel could still happen due to the film's strong merchandise and home video sales, the film's logo trademark was abandoned by August, pretty much confirming the planned five subsequent movies to be cancelled.

Considering how surprisingly fun this movie was, it's actually a bit of a shame.
