10 Movie Franchises That Should Die With Their Stars

2. Die Hard - Bruce Willis

Few action stars look like us regular people. We don’t have mansions like Tony Stark, nor do we have muscles on our muscles like Sylvester Stallone. John McClane is just a regular guy just trying to do the right thing, and Bruce Willis was the perfect man to do that. Balding, middle-aged, and pretty generic in stature is a look most American men can see themselves as.

Now the sequels have become a bit more unreserved than the original three, but that’s still Bruce Willis as the retired cop and if we the fans have anything to say about it, he always will be. The latest entry, A Good Day to Die Hard, tried and set up Jai Courtney as the 64-year old’s replacement, but poor box office results and even worse critical and audience reception squashed that idea.

A prequel titled, McClane, has been announced with director Len Wisemen attached. Bruce Willis is rumoured to reprise his role, but nothing yet has been confirmed. There’s a chance they’ll hire a new actor to star, but digital de-aging technology has come such a way, Willis has a large chance of doing it himself.
