There are still some out there who don't get the brilliant satirical undertones associated with Paul Verhoven's Starship Troopers - undertones which lots of people like to refer to so they can justify why they might like a movie that could easily be considered "downright awful." Though you're completely in the right if you've ever said, "Thing is, Starship Troopers is such an excellent satire on pseudo-fascism," you also sound like a douchebag, 'cause this is a movie about giant bugs, and no amount of subtext is gonna change that. Don't get me wrong: I like Troopers for its sly satirical edge, too, but I also like it 'cause it's balls to the walls hilarious, bloody as hell, and brilliantly entertaining from start to finish. There are also boobs in it. My therapist says I should try to get down to watching it just once a week, but what does he know? Fascist. Will The Remake Be Any Good? Absolutely not. Know why? Because it's being likened to that recent remake of Total Recall, which I think we'd agree to pay double the ticket price to have erased from our memories (get it?). The producers have also hinted that the tone they're going for is more along the lines of Minority Report, which is better, but that they're going to tone down the violence, which isn't.
