The monetary success of this movie was unmatched by the message it sent home with all of us. We are destroying our planet and become fat, lazy failures in the process, too dependent on technology to save us from our ultimate demise. We fell in love with the lead character, Wall-E, and his ability to reconnect with and love the world we used to have, before the problems of global warming and pollution started to affect our daily lives. He taught us all a valuable lesson in that, if we take a second to live in the present and learn from our past, the future wont seem as imminent and advanced. The Prequel: I think Pixar/Disney would benefit greatly from creating a prequel to this movie revolving around how the world became so devastatingly corrupt that humans were no longer capable of living on the planet at all. It would teach children about the responsibility of keeping the earth clean and happy. It would be filled with devastating images of animals, trees, flowers, even insects that all suffer from the damning effects of humanity. Not only for the stronger message, but the prequel will show the creation of Wall-E and other robots like him. Wall-E was not the only garbage dump cubing machine, Im sure, but perhaps his brothers and sisters were eliminated in favor of better machines and he, somehow, avoided extinction. Also, the friendship between Wall-E and his roach friend would be a sweet story bow to wrap around the powerful film.
