This is the very definition of a missed opportunity. The fact that Terminator Genisys is released a week or so before Comic-Con obviously restricts Paramount from promoting that (by that point, it will have either have been a hit or a flop and there will be nothing they can do about it), but not bringing a fan-favourite property like this is just downright stupid. Despite some initial bad feeling towards the first movie after - false - rumours of serious changes to the comics and cartoons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a hit last year and the sequel was announced in no time at all. Filming has been taking place for a while now, and so there's surely something they could show even if the CGI Turtles aren't finished. Throw in the fact that beloved Comic-Con regular and Arrow star Stephen Amell is playing Casey Jones in the sequel, and the studio has missed out on the chance to deliver a fan-pleasing panel at Comic-Con next month. WWE Superstar Sheamus is playing the villainous Rocksteady too, so there's a whole other fanbase they could have reached out to! With a release date set for a month before next year's Comic-Con, it's impossible to work out which foolish Paramount exec thought skipping 2015's show was a smart idea...
