10 Movies That Put Fans In Denial

3. Suicide Squad

While many films on this list had fans contradicting critics, only Suicide Squad had fans start a petition to shut down review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Fed up with the consistently poor reception of DCEU films, they might've had a stronger argument if they didn't rile against reviews of the weakest film in the universe to date.

To its credit, and contrary to Jurassic World, Suicide Squad's strength was in its main characters. Fan favourites Harley Quinn and Deadshot were portrayed perfectly, and even Jai Courtney turned in a decent performance (yes, really). There were also fleeting moments where characters shined, the bar scene being a clear highlight.

Beyond that, there's not much that differentiates Suicide Squad from a glorified music video. Edited to oblivion, it's hard to tell what's going on between forced music inclusions, clunky expositional voice-overs and seemingly endless barrages of quick cuts.

It somehow even managed to ruin Oscar winner Jared Leto's take on The Joker, one of cinema's most iconic villains. Whether the lack of story or structure was down to this or that only six weeks was given to produce a finished script we'll never know, but both are bare minimums of any competent film.
